Zer0 is a new Assassin playable character in Borderlands 2. Very little is known about Zer0 -- even his real name. Everyone just calls him Zer0 because, whenever he assassinates a target, the holo-emitter on his helmet displays the number zero. It isn't known if Zer0 ever speaks, but he can communicate after a fashion: the holo-emitter displays various symbols and images, including a smiley-face, from time to time.
